Reporting Vandalism – Important Contacts

The Stonegate North Villages Metropolitan District has experienced several recent acts of vandalism, including, but not limited to damage to the Community Center restroom, dirt bikes being driven over landscaped areas, and repeated incidents of graffiti, some of it profane. The district recently paid for a deep clean to the front sidewalk after a very sticky, staining substance was put on the ground and several work orders were completed for the graffiti in the tunnels. Work is also being done to enforce parking guidelines at the Community Center.

We want to stress that we are actively working in coordination with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office to address illegal activity and vandalism. Resident awareness is critical, and we ask that homeowners remain attentive and report any suspicious activity they observe.

The bathroom at the front of the Community Center appears to be a regular target. Unfortunately, we are not allowed to use VIZpin on this bathroom door. We are evaluating and are actively researching what can be done that meets legal and accessibility requirements as well as fire code and related Douglas County mandates for entry. We hope to have more news on this in the near future. In the meantime, we have scheduled more regular check-ins and cleanings and continue to monitor messages sent in about incidents.

A few things to note: neither the district nor the neighboring HOA has law enforcement authority. All criminal activity should be directed to the Sheriff’s Office. If you have information about individuals responsible for vandalism, that information should also be reported directly to law enforcement.

Report incidents immediately:
If vandalism or any crime is in progress or has just occurred, please first contact the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office non-emergency line at 303-660-7505. Timely, real-time reporting is critical to enable enforcement. When calling, provide as much detail as possible, including location, timing, and a description of individuals or activity.

Notify the district for follow-up:
After contacting the Sheriff’s Office, please report the issue to the district at contact@stonegatenorthvillages.org. This allows us to track patterns, coordinate repairs, and initiate any necessary maintenance work orders.

Responsibility for guests:
As a reminder, residents are responsible for the conduct of their household members and guests, including children.

Thank you for your continued support and for helping keep our community safe by reporting concerns to the appropriate authorities.
